Struggling with it. Not sure if I can catch up -- but I wasn't sure the last few nights and managed to. tonight I did not. Oof.

Not done yet, but struggling still. I feel like the plot has yet to get going.... and I do not know what my book is about, if anything.

Just checking in...

Just thought I'd check in and see how everyone's doing so far this year! Like investingkarma said, it's been eerily quiet this year...

I'm doing all right, but I gave up on trying to reach 100k after about 4 days. >_< I'm still going to try to make 75k though. *crosses fingers*

Current wordcount: 15,261.

Nov. 1st, 2010

It is way too quiet here today, guys!

Is nobody trying out this year? Or did you all find a trendy new community to play in? Come on now!

I was up last night because I had the day off today (don't worry, I get to work next Saturday), so I got a good amount in. I'm writing again tonight to capitalize on it, and because I probably won't get to do much on Saturday.

Is anybody out there?

Nanowrimo Clay Plot Bunny Contest!

I forgot about this group! Thankfully someone posted to it today so I thought I'd post about my contest here.

It's that time again. Nanowrimo! I'm posting a bit sooner then last year, so there is more time to sign up!

I'm doing what I started in 2005. A Clay Plot Bunny Drawing! (See ID picture for a clay plot bunny is!)

To sign up: Email me at magicalbookworm@gmx.com (not my gmail account.)

Place in the subject line Clay Plot Bunny Drawing.

In the main email your Nanowrimo ID. Nothing more needed!

You can sign up starting now, the 17th of October! Sign up ends midnight November 1st! After midnight on the first all entries will be ignored.

The two that won last year (2009) are not qualified for this year. Sorry guys. Those who won in 2008 are welcome to sign up again this year.

I'm sadly going to have to say United States only this year. I don't believe I'll have the funds to send anything international.

There will be two drawings and thus two prizes! There a great change to the second prize this year!

1. The first person to reach 50,000 words and email me (magicalbookworm@gmx.com ) with: Clay Bunny Drawing 50K in the subject line (Make sure to add the 50K so I know you've reached that amount).

You do have to email me when you hit 50,000 words. I won't be checking everyone on the list daily. So if someone hits 50K and doesn't email me and someone else does, the first person to email me wins. Make sure to include your Nanowrimo name so I can double check your count.

2. Random drawing for those that have won Nanowrimo. At the end of the month you'll email me with your total amount written. You must be on 50,000 words or over to be entered in the random drawing.

On the 1st through the 4th you will have to email me. Place in the subject Clay Plot Bunny and your total word count for the month. In the body of the email: your Nanowrimo name. Make sure to include your Nanowrimo name so I can double check your count!

All names that reached the 50K mark will be placed in a hat and one name will be drawn out. After that I will email said person.

I am going to put in a stipulation – the winner of the 50K bunny can not win the Random Drawing contest. So two people will win bunnies this year.

Now what bunnies can you win?

Here is a shop link to where some of the bunnies are listed. If there is a note by the bunny saying Etsy site. This is where the picture is at.

http://www.etsy.com/shop/magicalbookworm

If one of the winners wants a bunny from here, tell me and I'll take it off the shop list. Winners do not need to go through the check out process. You can also choose to pick one of the small bunny necklaces. These bunnies are small, almost two inches and are hung on a cord.

I do have pictures of most of the plot bunnies here:

http://clayplotbunnies.googlepages.com/home (I haven't been able to update the site in a while, but these are what the bunnies look like.)

If I don't have a picture of one of the bunnies listed below, there should be one somewhere on my computer I can place up on flicker and post a link to twitter: Magic_bw or at my livejournal account magicalbookworm.livejournal.com

If you still want a bunny but know that you won't win, then they are 11$ a piece and 5$ to ship.

If you want a bunny that is not on the Etsy site then email me (magicalbookworm@gmx.com) and I'll place the bunny up on my Etsy site for the person to buy. (Link above.)

I do make custom bunnies and I do have a great list of ones to make. Any custom orders that come in will be done in December and shipped after they are created.

I can't guarantee that a bunny that is listed above will be available by the time any of the two winners cross the finish line. I will send an updated list to the winners so they know what is still available.

Winner of the 50K bunny will be shipped a week after they reach 50K. The winner of the Random Drawing bunny will be shipped the second week of Dec.

Again my email magicalbookworm@gmx.com

Pass the word!

Pre-NaNo Jitters and an Offering

This year is much different for me than any other year. Life has not been very easy, but I am persevering and getting better and better. My mom passed away in September, but I am focusing on the positive. I mean, her death made me realize just how short life is and how much what life we do have needs to be cherished and explored.

I am more keen on getting my NaNo finished this year. I am making it more interesting for myself by going back to some old characters I had in a short story collection back in 2004. I have nine main characters, while three of them are the main protagonists. I'm really excited and really want to start now to see how far I can take this.

In addition to the writing, I am getting involved in fun NaNo stuff. I am fundraising in their general sponsorship (not to be confused with the fundraising for The Night of Writing Dangerously) and will be working a lot to get books for LA county in the Great NaNoWriMo Bookdrive.

Finally, I also want to help my fellow NaNo Writers. Something that keeps me positive is being positive for other people. I am currently in training to be a creativity coach. As a creativity coach-in-training, I need to be coaching people. So I am giving anyone the opportunity to use my coaching services for free. I can help you brainstorm for your NaNo or be your writer cheerleader, keeping your spirits up and reassuring you that yes you can do this. :) I've done it three times in five years and will be making that four in six very soon. :D

Seven days until Halloween and NaNoWriMo Eve! I can't wait!
HOLY CRAP.

I feel awesome. And surprised

!

yay!

I made it!

First off... CONGRATS to everyone who's made it so far!! :)

And to those of you still typing away furiously, I have the pom-poms out to cheer you on! You can do it!

As for me... it's finally over. I did some serious catching up this past week to cross the finish line. On November 24th, I was about 10,000 words behind. >_< But I pulled off a few higher-word-count days to get back up to speed. This year was the hardest for me yet, but I'm glad I didn't quit.

But hooray! I've won!! *happy dance*
